About the roleWe are looking for an experienced ESG Reporting Manager to take ownership of ESG-related disclosures and assurance activities across our external reporting. This role plays a critical part in ensuring that ESG information published in the Annual Report, ERI, and other external disclosures is accurate, consistent, and fully aligned with regulatory and internal requirements.
You will work closely with senior collaborators across External Reporting, Assurance, Compliance, and Sustainability functions, as well as external auditors, to continuously enhance ESG reporting quality and processes. While the role has no direct reports, success depends on strong influence and delivery through a matrix organisation.
Key ResponsibilitiesESG Reporting- Own the preparation of ESG-related disclosures in the Annual Report and ERI, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and regulatory compliance
- Identify and implement opportunities to enhance ESG reporting processes
- Partner with the External Reporting - ESG Reporting & Assurance Lead and External Reporting Compliance Lead to align approaches and deliver required data for other disclosures (e.g. results presentations)
- Ensure compliance with ESG reporting standards, strategies, and principles
- Maintain consistency of ESG information across all externally published materials
- Act as the main liaison with external auditors, ensuring timely resolution of all queries
- Ensure Filing Assurance Committee (FAC) ESG reporting aligns with internal policies and regulatory requirements
Assurance over Non-Financial External Reporting- Support contributing functions with assurance-related principles and processes for the Annual Report
- Collaborate with functional owners to recommend appropriate internal controls related to chosen financial information
- Review PwC findings for selected financial data and ensure FAC and Audit Committee reporting accurately reflects facts and management actions
This is an
individual contributor role, offering significant ownership and impact, without direct line management responsibility.
About You- Relevant professional education Bachelor's or Master's degree or comparable experience in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or hands-on experience in ESG or environmental fields
(e.g. carbon, water, or waste management) - 5+ years of professional experience in relevant fields
- Proven experience delivering outcomes through indirect reports in a matrix organisation
- Experience with ESG and non-financial data reporting, including data assurance processes
- Strong understanding of climate change and sustainability topics
- Knowledge of ESG disclosure trends and standard methodologies
- Familiarity with EU, UK, and US sustainability reporting regulations
- Experience working with TCFD, SASB, and GRI standards
- Proficient and confident English
- Strong interpersonal skills with a proven track record of senior partner management and influence
- Strong technical and management reporting capability
- Solid understanding of end-to-end processes and internal controls, including design and operation
- Ability to solve complex issues with clear ownership and accountability
- Comfortable operating independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to provide sound advice on complex technical matters
Nice to Have
- Experience with Sarbanes-Oxley / CARM compliance
- Knowledge of group reporting tools, such as Workiva (W-Desk) or BFC
